
Do the economic problems affect pre-sessional students?
Background
Over the last several months, the most discussed theme in Great Britain is related to its financial problems and The Credit crunch. The statistics show a variety of affected sectors, because of that crisis. the annual growth rate is weakest since the period in late 1992;variations in the exchange currency; this economic inflation mainly hits bank braches and the consequence of that is lower loan interest, unavailability of easy credits therefore most of people, they can’t pay for their mortgages, house prises are going down, however renting prices are increased.
On the other hand, the trade and the small market holders are seized by financial crisis, as well.
Aims
The purpose of this research-report is to find out if the current economic situation is affecting pre-sessional students in London Metropolitan University.
Method
The research-report was conducted amongst 35 people, pre-sessional students of London Met University. All students were aged between 18-26 years old.
The report was carried out by means of questionnaire consisting of 8 key questions- 4 open questions plus 4 sample answering questions. This comprised 8 questions about what amount of money students have paid for rent, bill estimates, also what they have mean for their leisure life, if they have been working , their opinion about the current financial situation.
